The Grundy County COAD (Community Organizations Active in Disaster) is looking for local emergency management, other local governmental agencies, non-governmental organizations, faith-based organizations, public, private, or not-for-profit organizations with a common interest of addressing a community’s needs as a result of an emergency or disaster.  The Grundy County COAD is a collaborative working group in which all participants are equal partners united by common goals to better serve the citizens of Grundy County prior to, during, and following an emergency or disaster.

We are always looking for volunteers for our Committee. Duties would include attending meetings and helping with our annual fundraising banquet and annual youth events.

Illinois Volunteer Money Management Program 
This program offers money management service to help low income senior adults, age
60 and older, or persons with disabilities that have been victims of exploitation or
other forms of abuse. It helps those who have difficulty budgeting, paying routine bills
and keeping track of financial matters. The program’s goal is to promote and prolong
independent living for individuals who are at risk of losing their independence due to
an inability to manage their financial affairs. The program uses trained and screened
adult volunteers to assist individuals who do not have friends or relatives to help.
Eligibility guidelines apply; there is no cost to eligible seniors.

Many seniors in our community are isolated and lonely and are waiting for someone to visit them. You could make a difference in your community by becoming a Senior Companion. Senior Companions provide weekly friendly visits and companionship to seniors who are homebound or socially isolated. Senior Companions also assist with occasional transportation, daily tasks and provide respite care for family caregivers. 

The Telephone Reassurance Program (TRP) is a friendly caller program that matches volunteer callers to older adults in our community. The Program connects older adults and volunteers through weekly telephone conversations that foster connection and reduce social isolation and feelings of loneliness. Telephone Reassurance Participants and Volunteers develop person-to-person supportive relationships.  You can socialize from the comfort of your own home!

Housed by the Grundy County Health Department in Morris Illinois.

The group is currently comprised of both medical and non-medical volunteers who assist in a variety of roles alongside our Health Department Staff.

While training and preparing for All-Hazards emergencies the volunteers assist with community outreach and education.

Community outreach and education involves volunteers (medical/non-medical) promoting healthy lifestyles whether it is diet, exercise, health screenings, in addition to preparing individuals’ families for emergencies that have the potential to strike in Grundy County.

Not all volunteers have to be out in the community speaking in front of others but can rather assist with behind the scenes like assisting with Health & Preparedness Fair coordination or drill and exercise coordination.

With the Grundy County Medical Reserve Corps there is a spot perfect for you no matter your previous skills, experiences, or interests. We hope to have you become a part of our team!

Our parking lot shuttle is coming soon! We're responding to the needs and request of our patients by starting a parking lot shuttle to take people from their vehicles to the Morris Hospital building.

This new volunteer opportunity is for those who enjoy interacting with people & helping them navigate a busy parking lot. The shuttle is a comfortable, heated, easy to drive electric vehicle, much like an enclosed golf cart.

Our volunteers have flexible schedules. We work with each volunteer to make sure volunteering fits with your life. Meet new people while volunteering when it's convenient for you.

We are looking for individuals to enter data into our Past Perfect database. Past Perfect contains the descriptions and locations of all artifacts the Museum owns. 

Candidate should be detail focused and accurately enter information from a form into the database.

We are looking for candidates to work either Thursday, Friday or Saturday for at least 4 hours a week. Hours and days are flexible.

We are looking for volunteers at our front desk. Individuals will need to greet guests as they arrive and to answer phone.

Volunteers who have finished their first year of high school are eligible for the Morris Hospital Volunteer Program. High School volunteers work in the following Morris Hospital service areas:

Volunteers are asked to commit to 50 hours per year, roughly, 4 hours per month. The volunteer services department will make every effort to work within a student’s school, family and extra-curricular commitments.  This volunteer assignment does have the opportunity to have some evening hours during the week.  The hours on weekends can also be completed with a friend.

Volunteers are trained as the frontline of the ministry as they are the first face to greet clients as they come in.  They help with general center tasks to keep the center operating efficiently.  Depending on training, experience, and interests, volunteers can also help the PRC with special events and client services.

The PRC needs volunteers who can help with monthly Curbside Care diaper giveaways and/or annual special events like The WALK and Banquet.
