Grundy County Housing Authority | Morris, Illinois
Need to complete court-ordered community service hours? The Grundy County Housing Authority (GCHA) routinely provides opportunities for individuals who need to complete community service ordered by a court.
Community service volunteers may assist with a variety of projects at GCHA properties in Gardner, Mazon, or Morris, IL, including cleaning and organizing common areas, light grounds work, seasonal projects, preparing materials, moving supplies, and other tasks based on our current needs.
Because our housing communities primarily serve seniors and people with disabilities, volunteers must be comfortable working respectfully and appropriately in close proximity to our residents.
Eligibility Requirements
To protect the residents we serve, GCHA cannot accept community service volunteers whose offense involved a crime against another person or against property. Eligibility will be reviewed before a volunteer assignment is approved.
Volunteers must also:
- Follow GCHA staff instructions and workplace rules.
- Treat residents, staff, and other volunteers with courtesy and respect.
- Arrive on time and be prepared to work.
- Complete assigned duties safely and responsibly.
- Provide documentation regarding required community service hours when requested.
Volunteer assignments and schedules depend upon the work available and GCHA's staffing needs.
